Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Total lack of safety data regarding fetal development and passage into breast milk. Strictly contraindicated.
Autoimmune disorders (lupus, MS)
As a potent immunomodulator derived from tuftsin, Selank may trigger autoimmune flare-ups or hypersensitivity reactions.
Active nasal infections or severe nasal mucosal damage
Intranasal administration is contraindicated during active nasal infections as it may worsen the condition or alter peptide absorption.
Concurrent use of SSRIs or MAOIs
Selank modulates serotonergic neurotransmission. The potential for serotonin syndrome has not been systematically evaluated.
